The Clinical Education and Professional Development Unit at Monash University will be running a Mock Structured Clinical Exam for International Medical Graduates on Tuesday 4th December, 2012.

Mock Exam Overview

The exam will have 8 OSCE stations and 1-2 rest stations (depending on the number of people sitting the mock exam).
The OSCE will cover a variety of clinical situations, as per the AMC exam.
Written feedback on all the cases will be given to each participant at the end of the mock exam.
A group feedback session will also be conducted following the exam and where there will also be opportunity to ask questions.
Candidates are required to arrive at 9.00am for a 9.30am start

Dear Colleagues,

The inquiry is soon drawing to a close.  As a group, we need to send a clear message as to what we feel is necessary to improve the system.  Unfortunately, we don’t have the time to organize ourselves into a functional entity that represents the diversity of IMGs impacted by the system of discrimination and prejudice in Australia.  Consequently, I would like to recommend that we submit our recommendations as a collective group.  I have attached a draft of recommendations for your review.  Central to these recommendations is the formation of an IMG advisory and support agency which would provide a voice for IMGs within the system.  While this will not solve all the problems it would be an important first step in securing a voice for IMGs in the system.

Unfortunately we have we need to get these recommendations to the committee no later than September 19 which does not leave a lot of time for consultation and editing.  Consequently, I need to know if you are willing to be a signatory to these recommendations no later than September 18!  While I appreciate any recommendations for changes I may not be able to accommodate all suggestions before the deadline.  You do need to keep in mind that the document and signatures will probably be made public.
